Does My Child Need Glasses?
How To Know If My Child Needs Glasses
The Benefits to Having Your Child Wear Glasses
Have you started to notice your child having a difficult time focusing on surrounding objects or squinting when looking at their screens? Glasses may be a solution to encouraging normal visual development since a child’s visual system is still in development during their first eight years of their life. Glasses may improve many aspects of a child’s life: improving overall visual acuity, improving the alignment of the eyes, providing eye protection.
Signs Your Child May Need Glasses
Experiencing headaches or eye pain: The overexertion of the eyes in an attempt to improve the clarity of blurred vision may result in headaches or eye pain.
Squints: If you find that your child squints often, that may be a sign that your child is experiencing a refractive error. A refractive error Is when the shape of your eye does not bend light correctly, resulting in blurry vision.
Noticing difficulty concentrating: Children may experience an increased difficulty concentrating on schoolwork or classroom activities due to an inability to quickly adapt to the array of visual cues often involved in learning.
Displays excessive eye rubbing: Eye rubbing is often a sign of eye fatigue or eye strain. This is a common symptom of multiple vision conditions.
Tilts head or covers one eye: The tilting of the head or the covering of one eye might be an indication that the eyes are not aligned or that your child may have a lazy eye, which is one of the most common eye disorders in children.
